Your own car journey to Casa Vento Madeira

From wherever you drive to Casa Vento in Madeira, whether from Santana or Funchal, your arrival by car or rental car is a feast for the eyes! The half-hour drive from the airport along the south coast will get you in the mood for your well-deserved holiday with us in Ribeira Brava (district Moreno). Simply follow the Google Maps description (see button below) or enter "Casa Vento Madeira" directly. Unfortunately, you will not find what you are looking for on Google Maps with the official street name of our location, so we recommend entering only "Casa Vento Madeira". We have stored the location with the exact GPS data.

Directions from the airport to Ribeira Brava

At the airport, first drive in the direction of Funchal.

Your journey now takes you and your car for more or less 31 km first along the VR 1 expressway in the direction of Funchal and Camara de Lobos and finally to Campanario. From the airport to the exit just go straight ahead.

After the tunnel, take exit 2 to Campanario.

Follow the main street for quite a while until you come to a crossroads (recognizable by the colorful rubbish bins). Turn left here and continue towards Ribeira Brava.

Follow the road for almost 2 km and don't forget to look over your left shoulder for a breathtaking view. Magnificent views at the foot of the Atlantic!

You come to another crossroads, also easily recognizable by the two imposing Norfolk firs and last but not least by the sign "Moreno", that's the name of the district in which we live. Here you turn right. One last time you will be directed to Moreno at a crossroads. From here it is only a few minutes by car.

After the last sharp right turn you are now on the road to Casa Vento. Drive a little uphill and you will come to a crossroads. Here is our gem on the left. You are welcome to park along the street or curve.

Directions from the north or west

If you come to us from the north, for example from Sao Vicente, then it is best to use the VE 4, which cuts through the middle of the island from north to south and ends in Ribeira Brava. Be careful, you must exit the VE 4 onto the R 229, VE 3 towards Ribeira Brava, Ponta do Sol before it becomes dual carriageway and enters the airport tunnel. At the second roundabout, take the third exit towards ER 229, Funchal.
From the west of the island, from Ponta do Pargo, simply take the ER 101 and switch to the VE 3, which has recently been completed in this area, depending on your mood. You will pass Prazeres, Estreito da Calheta, Paul do Mar and finally reach Ribeira Brava . At the roundabout after the 1395 meter long tunnel Ribeira Brava, Tabua, take the second exit towards ER 229, Funchal.

In both cases, there are still 2.8 km of driving left, which you can complete in just a few minutes.

You flank the sports field, follow the turning right of way to the left and then immediately turn right into a tunnel.

At the roundabout, take the second exit towards Campanario, Funchal.

Follow the coastal road uphill.

After three hairpin bends, turn left at the next bend towards Moreno. (Estrada do Moreno)

Follow the road for 1.7 kilometers until you reach a crest.

On the right you will discover Casa Vento.
